Adjacent to several of China’s busiest theme parks, the design of the Yitian Holiday Plaza is inspired by a cruise ship, docked in its long narrow site for a holiday visit. This vacation imagery is fulfilled by the project’s function as a world-class retail destination, and the presence of a 5-star Westin Hotel. The two ends of the interior retail space are anchored by a retail tenant and an entertainment and food venue. The main mall is designed as a series of stacked, column-free serpentine balconies, interrupted only by the center court and diagonal bridges, promoting a highly interactive and dynamic shopping experience. The entire length of the mall is lit by indirect natural daylight. The lowest retail level of the mall is directly connected to the new subway at three separates entrances, a convenience for local shoppers as well as for tourists visiting the nearby theme parks.
