Projects Under Construction:
Laguarda.Low Architects is proud to announce 9 projects currently under construction:
Hongshan 6979 broke ground in Shenzhen, China, in 2017 and is scheduled to open in 2020.
OCT Baoan broke ground in Shenzhen, China, in late 2017 and is scheduled to open in 2020.
Jining Cultural Center broke ground in Jining, China, in early 2018 and is scheduled to open in 2020.
Vanke Chengdu in Chengdu, China broke ground mid-2019 and is scheduled to open in late 2020.
Shanghai Yitian Holiday Plaza in Shanghai, China is nearing completion and is scheduled to open in 2020.
OCT Shunde broke ground in Shunde, China, in early 2016 and is scheduled to open in 2020.
Taiyuan Jinyang Lakefront broke ground in Taiyuan, China, mid-2017 and is scheduled to open in 2020.
OCT Nanjing in Nanjing, China broke ground in late 2017 and is scheduled to open at end of 2021.
Auriga in Monterrey, Mexico broke ground mid-2019, with the hotel scheduled to complete early 2021 and the office and retail in late 2021.
Laguarda.Low Architects celebrates its 20-year Anniversary!
As the year closes out, we are pleased to share that 2020 will mark the 20-year anniversary of Laguarda.Low Architects. Founded by a group of design-oriented architects with years of shared knowledge and experience, the practice has spanned the globe with projects realized in over 25 countries. Creativity and focus on design remain the foundation on which the practice approaches all work. We look forward to another decade of successful projects, sensitive to context and impactful in reach.
Events
On March 21, Principal James Wu moderated a roundtable discussion at the China Grading of Shopping Malls conference in Beijing.
In May, Principal Ken Shigematsu represented Laguarda.Low at the multi-day ICSC RECon conference in Las Vegas.
At an August press conference in Kunming, Pablo Laguarda, FAIA, Co-founder and Principal presented the design concept for Junfa Kunming Ecological Peninsula.
Principal Ken Shigematsu attended a conference on September 24th at the Asia Society in coordination with the 2019 Climate Action Summit.
Laguarda.Low exhibited at MAPIC November 13th-15th in Cannes, represented by Pablo Laguarda, FAIA, co-founder and Principal and Principal Ken Shigematsu.
On November 13th Grandberry Park opened to the public in Tokyo, Japan. Pablo Laguarda, FAIA, Principal and Co-founder and Principal Ken Shigematsu attended the ceremony as well as soft openings the week prior. The shopping and leisure destination attracted over one million people within 13 days, and for ten consecutive days, there were more visitors than Tokyo Disneyland!
In December 2019, Principal Ed Jenkins represented Laguarda.Low at the ICSC CenterBuild and New York Deal Making events.
