An extraordinarily creative four-story retail center from the minds of Laguarda.Low Architects has opened in Xiamen, China. Using imagery inspired by canyons and the movement of water, the project translates the energy of nature into enhanced shopping flow throughout the two main towers. An expansive skylight is the overarching design element, and a balanced treatment of compression and expansion motivates shoppers. Even the entrance employs natural motifs, with gradient patterns which mimic light on water inviting the public in.
