The Minami-Machida Grandberry Park project brings together Tsurumama Park, Minami-Machida Train Station, and an outdoor Retail Village to form a district-friendly urban lifestyle center for local residents and visitors alike. The project won the Excellence Award for its innovative design concept, attention to detail, sustainable design, and its overall contribution to the vitality of the community.
Established in 2001, the Civil Engineering Design Prize is an important national award sponsored by the Landscape and Design Committee of the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE). The award aims to improve the quality of civil architecture and public space, provide citizens with better public infrastructure and places, and enhance the cultural environment of the region in the long term. The award recognizes high-quality work that is both creative and innovative, yet in harmony with its surroundings in both overall and detail.
