Situated on the outskirts of Goiania near the airport, Passieo Das Aguas uses a sloping site and existing creek to create dramatic vistas and soaring volumes in this largely single-story project. Set on a hot, humid site, Goiania’s overarching theme of water cools the project, psychologically and physically. Water elements and a design vocabulary inspired by the nearby creek round out the “Parque das Aguas” concept. The site topography allows for parking to be placed under the main retail level to maximize the site and allow for possible future expansions. The Cinema and Food court areas are placed on this lower level as well, creating a dramatic two level volume that flows out to the existing creek. This indoor/outdoor space features spectacular views to the rolling hills of the region. The result is a project that is firmly planted in it surroundings both literally and figuratively.
