On, May 9, 2017, the Tokyu Corporation held an official groundbreaking ceremony for Grandberry Center, a new Laguarda.Low-designed, transit-oriented development in Machida, Tokyo. The new development replaces an existing train station and shopping center with a modern, outdoor shopping village and world- class train depot. Grandberry Center was designed to be an activity hub for Machida, and includes shopping, restaurants, parking, and open public space. The design integrates an adjacent park into the site by removing an existing road between the two parcels and weaving natural elements onto and around the structures fronting the park entrance.
