The Top Glory Plaza is designed to be Shenyang Da-Dong district’s new retail center — a nucleus for future development with a unified master plan that integrates into the district. The Zhong Jie retail promenade, a renowned landmark of northeast China, has long been one Shenyang’s main attractions. One of the design goals of the project is to create a strong link to Zhong Jie, both visually and physically. Xiao Dong Street has been transformed into a pedestrian promenade, with greenery to soften the urban landscape, while kiosks are strategically placed to activate the space. Mall entrances not only promote the interaction between indoor and outdoor space, but also facilitate the traffic flow from the subway below. The design is a progressive and contemporary approach that complements the historic surroundings and creates a distinctive, new lifestyle district for the city of Shenyang.
