Nanchang, 06/09/2023 – The groundbreaking ceremony for OCT’s Joyhoo Phase V Cultural and Tourism Commercial Complex, designed by Laguarda.Low Architects (LLA), was recently held in Nanchang, China. The initial land leveling has been completed and construction has commenced on the basement retaining walls in some areas. The project is in its initial construction phase, with surrounding land cleared for further development.
This lakeside cultural and tourist resort, recognized as a national 4A-level tourist attraction, was collaboratively designed by the internationally renowned firms Laguarda.Low Architects (LLA) and landscape architects Terrain Studio. Together, they’ve created an exciting new leisure and cultural destination in Nanchang's aquatic city of 8 hectares and an investment exceeding 1.5 billion RMB. The retail component of the center consists of four above-ground levels and one below-ground level, encompassing approximately 137,000 square meters of GBA.
Joyhoo sets a new standard for urban mixed-use complexes in Central China, breaking away from traditional shopping center design. By seamlessly integrating "valley gardens" with a modern retail environment, it aspires to be a benchmark in the region. The development plan includes a diverse range of facilities such as landscaped gardens, shopping and leisure areas, and dining and entertainment venues. The project is expected to be completed by April 2025, bringing an eagerly anticipated leisure and cultural destination to the city of Nanchang.
