On August 31, 2018, Pablo Laguarda FAIA, co-founder and principal of Laguarda.Low Architects was a featured speaker at OCT’s brand release ceremony of Oh Bay at the JW Marriott in Shenzhen, China. Accompanied by James Wu, principal of Laguarda.Low Architects, Pablo formally presented LLA’s design for Oh Bay – a new mixed-use waterfront development alongside Qianhai Bay in the Bao’an district of Shenzhen.

Currently under construction, Oh Bay is a contemporary integration of large-scale commercial development within a public park. Cultural, leisure, retail, hotel, and office uses totaling 380,000 m2 are seamlessly intertwined with an undulating landscape and choreographed water features, overlapped by a network of curvilinear paths and public promenades. The project has been deemed a ‘new global tourism demonstration zone’ by local authorities.

The completion of Oh Bay will bring diverse experiences of tourism, humanities, art, and business to local citizens, exemplify the coastal lifestyle of Shenzhen, and enhance the influence of Shenzhen as an international metropolis – Pablo Laguarda FAIA
